Finance Manager (Part-Time)
Custodia is a UK based company, founded in 2017, with wider presence in North America, Europe and Asia both directly and through strategic partnerships.
Our current key offering is the CC1 (Compliance Cloud One) service which records, stores and normalizes any type of communications data. This includes many common platforms such as phone email, SMS, phone calls, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp and WeChat amongst many others. This allows companies to communicate in a compliant manner, whilst driving greater data-driven insights from the data they already have to store.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of our finance function and provide financial leadership across reporting, planning, forecasting, and commercial decision-making.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to lead the day-to-day finance operations of a growing technology company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, payroll, financial planning, and business support, whilst acting as the primary liaison with the company's external accountants. In addition, the role will provide commercial financial insight to support product pricing, profitability analysis, and strategic business decisions.
This position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the growth and success of Custodia Technology.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Accounting
- Full ownership of the day-to-day finance function
- Managing sales ledger and purchase ledger activities through QuickBooks
- Credit control and cash collection management
- Monitoring debtor balances and ensuring timely collections
- Processing supplier invoices and payment runs
- Managing company cash flow and working capital requirements
- Performing monthly bank reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and controls
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Managing HMRC submissions and payments
- Managing monthly payroll processes
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory financial obligations
Management Reporting
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts
- Preparing financial reports and analysis for the senior leadership team
- Delivering monthly KPI and performance reporting
- Producing variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
- Supporting business decision-making through financial analysis and modelling
- Preparing board-level reporting and ad hoc management information as required
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Leading the annual budgeting process
- Preparing financial forecasts and business plans
- Monitoring expenditure against budget
- Measuring financial performance against agreed targets
- Supporting strategic planning and growth initiatives
- Identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
Commercial Finance & Pricing Analysis
- Support the leadership team in the development and validation of product and service pricing
models - Analyse product profitability, revenue performance, and gross margins
- Produce financial models and scenario analysis for new products, services, and commercial
initiatives - Validate pricing proposals to ensure alignment with revenue and profitability objectives
- Support contract and proposal reviews by assessing commercial viability and margin impact
- Monitor recurring revenue performance and provide analysis on revenue trends and
profitability - Work closely with Product, Sales, and Leadership teams to support commercially informed
decision-making - Identify opportunities to improve pricing strategies, financial performance, and business
profitability
External Accountant Management
- Acting as the primary point of contact for external accountants
- Preparing year-end financial information and supporting schedules
- Coordinating the provision of information required for statutory accounts preparation
- Supporting audit and compliance activities where required
- Ensuring timely completion of statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
Business Support
- Managing company insurance renewals
- Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding administration
- Assisting with supplier and contract administration
- Supporting process improvements across finance operations
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to the leadership team
- Supporting wider business initiatives and operational projects as required
What You Bring
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Company Accountant, or
senior finance role within an SME environment - Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Experience managing payroll, VAT, cash flow, credit control, and management accounts
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and business plans
- Strong commercial awareness and an ability to support business decision-making
- Experience analysing profitability, margins, and financial performance
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
We welcome applications from candidates who are:
- AAT Qualified
- Part-Qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA
- Qualified by Experience (QBE)
- Fully Qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA
Practical experience, commercial acumen, and the ability to successfully manage a finance
function are considered more important than holding a specific qualification.

This role is on-site, based at our office in Knutsford.
