Why We Were There
At its core, our presence at UCX Manchester was all about connection and conversation.
We spoke with organisations at different stages of their digital transformation journey, but a common theme quickly emerged:
How to better manage, capture and optimise communication data, especially within Microsoft Teams.
For those operating in regulated environments, the conversation centred around:
- Capturing regulated digital communications (particularly within Teams)
- How organisations can be compliant without disrupting workflows
- Leveraging real-time capture and reconciliation for accuracy and auditability
For others, it was about productivity and simplification. That’s where our work around unified messaging sparked a lot of interest, bringing channels like:
- SMS
- Telegram
directly into the Teams environment to create a single, streamlined communication hub.
The takeaway? Whether driven by compliance or productivity, businesses are actively looking to take more control of their communication ecosystems, and do more within Teams.
The Conversations That Mattered
What truly stood out wasn’t just what we shared, but what we learned.
Across the event, we connected with:
- IT and Data leaders exploring how to future-proof their Teams estates
- Compliance and Risk professionals navigating growing regulatory pressures
- Digital transformation teams looking to simplify fragmented communication tools
These conversations were refreshingly honest. Many organisations are facing the same challenges:
- Fragmented messaging platforms
- Gaps in data capture
- Increasing scrutiny from regulators
- A need to balance compliance with user experience
It was clear that solutions need to be seamless, scalable, and user-friendly, not bolted-on afterthoughts.
And that’s exactly where we see CC1 delivering the most value: helping organisations capture everything they need, without getting in the way of how people work.
The Star of the Show
Of course, no event presence is complete without something to draw a crowd, and this year, our claw machine did exactly that.
What started as a fun idea quickly became the centrepiece of our stand.
Attendees stepped up to try their luck at winning, which gave us an interactive way of starting interesting, deep conversations about how we can help attendees via CC1.
It created a relaxed, informal atmosphere that made it easier to connect. Some of our best discussions actually started with:
"Can I have a go on the claw machine…"

Our Key Takeaways
UCX Manchester reinforced a few key truths for us:
1. Teams is at the centre of the modern workplace
Whether it’s collaboration, communication, or customer engagement, Teams continues to grow as a critical business platform, and organisations want to maximise its potential.
2. Compliance isn’t going away
If anything, it’s becoming more complex. Businesses need solutions that provide confidence and clarity, not additional friction.
3. Simplicity is powerful
The idea of unifying communication channels into one environment resonated strongly. The fewer platforms users have to juggle, the better the experience, and the stronger the control.
4. People still buy from people
Technology matters, but conversations matter more. Events like UCX remind us that real value comes from understanding challenges first-hand and building genuine relationships.
Looking Ahead
We left UCX Manchester feeling excited about what’s next.
The conversations we had are already shaping how we think about supporting organisations with:
- Regulated data capture in Teams
- Unified messaging strategies
- Simplifying compliance without sacrificing usability
And, of course, we’re already thinking about how we can top the claw machine next time…
If you stopped by the stand, whether for a chat or a go on the machine, thank you for being a part of the event.
We’d love to continue the conversation, so please reach out if you have any questions on how Custodia could support your business.
